Biography

Young Nova, born Damone Barlow Jr., was raised in Manhattan, NYC. Growing up around older brother Rated R may have influenced many things he has done but he has always been his own man. Seeing the things that people in his area would get into, Nova always wanted better. Listening to music would control most of his time while at home. He started writing poetry at age 9. This soon turned into rhymes at age 11. As he developed his skills over the years, others started to notice. At the age of 16 he, Rated R & cousin Haze created the group Legacy. At this time Nova was still growing into his flow and getting the hang of recording. With influences like Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, Common, Kid CuDi & Drake, this NYC rapper has taken the lyricism NYC is known for and has taken it to another level with his MidWest and backpack rap style. Now 18, Young Nova is set to release his 1st mixtape "The Love @ 1st Sight". With a great surrounding of rappers, Young Nova can only look up.
